The original Arts & Crafts house was full of character which had been diminished by previous modifications. These included the addition of a large flat-roofed side extension and leaky conservatory to the rear, and resulted in an imbalance between the large living areas and bedrooms at first floor. The site is within a Greenfield Site and the proposals were restricted to the existing volume of the house + 30%. We are pleased that the extension and remodel achieves larger internal spaces, while also respecting Greenfield Site regulations and enhancing the original character of the building.
