123_derelict cottage restoration

A vacant cottage that was in a state of disrepair has been given new life as a family home through internal remodelling, re-roofing and a garage conversion. Situated at the intersection of roads through the village of Foolow, the property is comprised of a two elements: the two-storey building and a single storey element that housed the garage, bathroom and kitchen. The cottage was in a dilapidated condition and the sequencing of existing internal spaces was poor. Through the garage conversion and internal remodelling, the property gained a third bedroom, an upstairs bathroom and a much more functional kitchen, separate utility and modest garden room, as well as an improved flow of spaces through the house. External modifications included re-rendering of walls, re-roofing, installation of new windows and rainwater goods, resulting in a significant improvement to the external appearance of the property.
